Summary
Investigation of a heater treater fire on the Ship Shoal 72 J platform. Investigators attributed weld deterioration to low-pH production chemicals and identified hydrocarbon ignition as the probable cause. Operators extinguished the fire, activated suppression and isolated fuel gas. No injuries or major damage were reported.
