Summary
Investigation of a shallow-gas encounter during drilling on Rowan Gorilla IV at South Timbalier Block 285. Insufficient mud weight was identified as the probable cause. Diverter use discharged approximately 400 barrels of water-based mud into the Gulf of Mexico; increased mud weight restored well control by 23 December 2013.
